Contrast therapy alternates between heat (sauna) and cold (cold plunge) to stimulate circulation, reduce muscle soreness, and support recovery. The heat relaxes muscles and increases blood flow, while the cold helps reduce inflammation and refresh the nervous system.
What is Sauna & Stretch ? Who and what is it for? How does it help?
Sauna & Stretch combines heat therapy with guided stretching to help loosen tight muscles, improve mobility, and calm the nervous system. Heat increases blood flow and muscle elasticity, making stretching more effective and comfortable.
Who is it for?
It's ideal for anyone looking to move and feel better — especially athletes, active individuals, or anyone preparing for a game or event or recovering afterward. It's also great for stress relief and mood support.

What age do I have to be to Sauna?
Saunas place significant stress on the body by raising core temperature, heart rate, and fluid loss. While healthy adults can regulate these changes well, children and younger teens do not yet have fully developed thermoregulation systems — meaning they don't cool down as efficiently.Their sweat glands are Less mature and produce a lower volume of sweat.
Scientifically:
Younger bodies sweat less effectively, increasing the risk of overheating
Heat exposure causes cardiovascular strain similar to moderate exercise, which developing bodies may not tolerate as well
Dehydration can occur more quickly in youth
Common sense & safety:
Teens under 16 may not recognize early warning signs like dizziness or overheating
Sauna use requires responsible hydration, timing, and self-monitoring
Setting a minimum age helps ensure safe, independent use without added risk
For these reasons, 16+ is widely recommended to ensure sauna use is safe, controlled, and beneficial rather than stressful.
Who should avoid Sauna & Cold exposure?
People with uncontrolled heart conditions
Heat and cold rapidly change heart rate and blood pressure, which can be dangerous without medical clearance.Pregnant individuals
Elevated core body temperature and sudden blood pressure shifts may pose risks during pregnancy.Anyone with uncontrolled high or low blood pressure
Sauna heat lowers blood pressure, while cold exposure raises it — the swing can cause dizziness or fainting.People with a history of fainting or heat intolerance
Sauna use can worsen these symptoms and increase risk of collapse. Those with certain neurological conditions
Temperature extremes may trigger symptoms or impair the body's ability to regulate heat and cold.Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Impaired awareness increases the risk of overheating, dehydration, or shock.People with open wounds or active infections
Heat and communal environments can interfere with healing or spread infection.
When in doubt, medical clearance is always recommended before using sauna or cold exposure therapies.
